I had chosen a game style of fantasy for our final game design, and I shared some ideas for game development class such as fantasy elements. Later, I gave some suggestion for character's description, because if we are going to start design, we need a lot of details about the characters, such as their personality, what style of their cloth, may be classical or fashionable and so on. Actually, I like the story. It has good background and story line with many different characters in different scenes or places we can imagine. But there are still problems, for example like how is Alex going to save Elva's father? No just pass though the universe or space... What is the process? I was confused. The age of the main character, I am not sure if he should be 17, looks so young, 19 or 20 would be much butter. Maybe we can write some details of the whole game not just the introduction, because I want it to have some tussle, may be. Before I was thinking about an element of Chinese mythic animals may be can added into story, but we chose the game happen in London, so my idea was not used. Sometimes, linking different culture together is more interesting rather than just one culture by itself. For the name of game, may be I like “Steam Punk” more than “Steam Shift”, because first one has a strong feeling of that period, mechanism and fantasy. Jason gave us the mark of story is 8, in my option, maybe changing some detail will look much butter, but I like the story 70%. Actually, I want to give 7.5 to story.
The logic, I didn't give ideas for this part, because this group always writing on their own. I heard about the completed logic tree two times in our class meeting, and saw the logic map just once. I cannot get more information from the logic tree. Although we had discussion in the class many times, I don't have much impression for the logic. In my opinion, this part can be successful if written by no more than one person. At the same time, they have a good organization that connects each part of the story, but if they can improve some parts of the logic, may be can have a good result in the end. In my opinion, the logic is a hard one to think and write. We need to know how the logic relates all story, characters and places and so on. Some times, if the logic is written by just one or two people might be easier, because different people have different ideas, it is hard to communicate each other and unify all ideas. In this week, Jason gave us 7 markers for the logic, it is very lucky. At the same time, I am not sure this mark, because I cannot share easily my idea into this group, the problem is not too many people were concerned with thinking or writing of the logic. But this group is very hard working, it is good, I want to give them 6.5 marks.
Design document, we have a lot of things to do, including characters, time machine, interface, environment, building and so on. We have many people to draw different parts such as concept drawing. In the beginning, a problem for the characters was that we did not know any details for different characters, just imagined the style of them by ourselves. When we tell the story group that we need characters list, they wrote for us, it was good. So we could follow the list to design characters. It was easy to understand what personalities of them. But we didn't have enough time to do more color paintings for characters. On the other hand, when we almost finish all characters and get to choose final drawings. Some people did not like Alex's hair, the reason was because it's too short, should be longer than this style, but I do not think so, I like the short one… -.- For machines design, I would like to do the airship. A problem I am worry about is that whether the key locations can be finished in time, because now all people have changed mind that the building or street will be drawn by us, too much work need to do, hopefully we can finish on time. I add this group to design main and minor/supporting characters including: Alexander Cross, The Man in Black, the “artist”, Leah Adams, the temple leader, Nancy, Bernard gallery cleaner, tailor, homeless man and so on. Cliff and I are designing the logo for the game, both logos look very nice, and using a Victorian style. I am surprise that Jason gave us 8 marks for design document, but we need to continue to develop our drawings, I will give us 7.5.

Week 7: The Temple Leader
The Temple Leader, I was design two style of him, one is looks like an asian bonze, another one for friar in UK. Little be change his face and stature may be have a nice feeling, he is short and fat and unattractive.

The character design
Week 5, I was join in art group to design characters, background and architecture and so on. I found some images of steampunk and universe, nice design, we can think about our game design. But for the character, I want to the story group can give me more details such as person's personality, what hobby he or she has, what style of thier cloth... For the period, may be change to 1910, much butter I think.

Good start : D
We have a story line of the final game in last class. Here has three main characters including a boy, girl and her father. The girl's father is a scientist, one day, he was disappeared, nobody know where is he. The girl want to the boy can fround her father. They have a transport can go to any space... I like the story line, it's background in 20th century, London, Britain. Actually, we need more research for which period, and logic tree looks so difficult to writte it. By the way, I think I will thank about the character design. I hope we can learn some skills about how to use softwares to made game, I am very confused it... -_-ps: I am write in English, but my grammar so poor... because I am study English no too long time, it is my second language, but I can study very hard. :)

Story line : )
I like a fantasy story line for the game. In my opinion, I want to add some Chinese elements such as dragon, phenix, kylin, white tiger and so on put into the game. May be we can made more characters in the fianl game design, prophase concept is very important. I am mirage that a winged castte fly on the sky, the dramatis personae come into this place, he need fround an archaic book. When he read especial abracadabras from the book, he can become a mahatma or superman, a little looks like Heman, hehe. He can drill through any space times, and to save world which is controled by the belials. But, I just bethink of those story line of the game, I will get my classmates some ideas for theirs story. Actually, I need to think about different styles of the characters design, hopefully we can do the best.

Chess : )
In this week, we played two games including chess and card. Firstly, Many countries lay claim to the invention of chess. Western chess or International chess looks like Chinese chess, similar but we have different ways to paly it. I liked the chess style of the load of the rings, dream, ancientry and mystery. About the history of chess, it is presently thought that the game originated in India. Cliff and Cody played the chess in the class, who was the winer we did not knew actually, but some experience we can see. In the game, Cliff usually ponder how to play the chess, but for Cody always talk, did not consider chess too much. Secondly, play card. I can not understand the card in Auckland, it is looks like a kind of casino, and use some chips including 10%, 20%, 50% and so on. Two cards for each person, 5 cards put on the table, if your cards same number with those cards, maybe you will become a winner. Our classmates staked need fllow the last person, if he or she put 20% of the chip, everone should put 20% too. Actually, I am feel this paper quite hard for me, but I can study very hard and try to challenge own high-point.

Game : D
I like character design in cartoon, game or film, and I want to try to draw more objects for the game development. It is the reason why I cannot speak too much in our class, because I do not usually play computer game at home, and I cannot understand some speciality language or words about the game. But I want to study more knowledge and challenge my unsubstantial tache in this paper. In this class, we can work together, it can be bring up our team spirit, so good, I like that. We made a intersting story line of a game, some especial ideas of characters, environment and texture and so on. In out side, we play bullrush, and some people become winers. It is very important of the rule that speed and the way of dodgeing when people will touch other person. Hopscotch, it is a very intersting game, but different with our hopscotch in China, so I always some made mistakes, haha. In this game, it is important that exact jaculation of stone and hop into the rectangle on the ground, if you are rule, you will be wash out. Finally, I am lucky to add into characters design group, I am good at drawing, hehe XD
